This branch of our club is generally aimed at those who want to experience recreational riding - teenagers/young adults/adults.
In a first stage, the rider will learn about recreational riding, followed by information about trail riding.
Full introductory level session (45 min)
- Full set of introductory riding exercises and activities, including preparation for trail riding.
These sessions will be custom made for each rider's purpose, giving the opportunity for a relaxed low-medium intensity session. For those wishing to grow, sessions will be of increased intensity allowing them to progress more quickly to intermediate/advanced levels and then on to performance.
At the beginning, the riding lessons include simple exercises - hand on hip, side hand, arm rolls, stroking (you bend down and stroke the horse on the chest, or on the back).
These are all aimed at developing balance, confidence and the ability to interact with the horse. This involves learning to understand the horse and its language of communication, both from the ground and on horseback.
Furthermore, the ability to coordinate, synchronise and maintain balance is increasingly trained through exercises such as:
- trunk arm rotations, front-back bends, exercises to develop the instinct to squeeze the knees, balance exercises by sitting on the knees while riding, gymnastics exercises etc.
